When exporting an SVG file to Adobe Illustrator, you might encounter two known issues. Here is how to solve them.

Illustrator Crashing on Open

Some SVG files from Concepts can cause Illustrator to crash. This is due to a bug in how Illustrator handles certain SVG filters.

  1. To work around this, enable the Filterless option in the SVG export settings in Concepts.
  2. Export your drawing again.

Important: Using the Filterless option disables textured strokes (like Pencil or Marker). The path data will be correct, but the strokes will appear as simple lines in Illustrator.

Drawing is Off-Center

Your drawing may appear far from the main artboard when opened in Illustrator.

  1. Zoom out until you locate your drawing.
  2. Select all the artwork.
  3. Drag it onto the main artboard to position it correctly.
