Concepts offers three types of "erasers": Slice, Hard Mask, and Soft Mask, each providing unique ways to edit your work since Concepts uses vectors to draw and saves underlying path data for every stroke.

You can find the eraser tools in two main locations:

  1. On the Tool Wheel: Your most frequently used eraser tool can be placed directly on your tool wheel for quick access.
  2. In the Brushes Menu: To access the full selection of erasers, tap an active tool or double-tap an inactive tool on the tool wheel to open the Brushes menu. From there, you can choose Slice, Hard Mask, or Soft Mask to add to your wheel.

Slice Tool: This is a destructive tool that functions like a razor blade, cutting through and destroying any stroke data it touches. You can adjust its size and choose to slice in the active layer or all layers. The only way to undo a slice is by using the Undo function.

Hard Mask: This masking tool hides your strokes with a clean, sharp edge. It creates masking strokes that can be moved and adjusted for position, size, smoothing, and opacity, just like other vector-based brushes in Concepts. Hard Mask works on your current layer.

Soft Mask: Similar to the Hard Mask, the Soft Mask also hides strokes but with a soft, blending edge. These masks are vector-based and can be moved and adjusted. Soft Mask also works on your current layer.
