If your strokes automatically turn into straight lines, it is likely caused by one of two settings.
Reason 1: Smoothing is at 100%
When the smoothing slider for a tool is set to 100%, every line you draw will be straightened.
- Select the active tool on your Tool Wheel.
- On the inner ring of the wheel, tap the smoothing value (the squiggly line icon with a percentage).
- Move the slider to a lower value. A setting of 0-10% will give you a more natural, responsive stroke.
Reason 2: A Snap Option is Enabled
If a Snap option is active in the Precision menu, your strokes will automatically align to the grid or other guides.
- Open the Precision menu (the grid icon on the toolbar).
- Check the Snap options. If an option like Snap to Grid is active, tap it to toggle it off.
