A crash when opening the app on iOS can be caused by a bug in Apple's file handling of connected network drives or third-party file locations. You can troubleshoot this by disconnecting them one by one.

Troubleshoot Shared Networks

  1. Open the Files app on your device.
  2. In the sidebar, locate the Shared section.
  3. Tap the name of a shared network drive.
  4. Tap the eject icon next to the network name to disconnect it.
  5. Return to Concepts. If an error message is visible, dismiss it and tap the Try Again button.
  6. If the app still crashes, repeat this process for any other shared networks until you find the one causing the issue.

Troubleshoot Third-Party Locations

  1. Open the Files app.
  2. Under the Locations section, tap the ... icon at the top of the sidebar.
  3. Select Edit Sidebar.
  4. Disable one third-party location (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox).
  5. Return to Concepts and tap Try Again.
  6. Repeat this process until the app launches correctly. Leave the problematic location disabled.
