A crash when opening the app on iOS can be caused by a bug in Apple's file handling of connected network drives or third-party file locations. You can troubleshoot this by disconnecting them one by one.
Troubleshoot Shared Networks
- Open the Files app on your device.
- In the sidebar, locate the Shared section.
- Tap the name of a shared network drive.
- Tap the eject icon next to the network name to disconnect it.
- Return to Concepts. If an error message is visible, dismiss it and tap the Try Again button.
- If the app still crashes, repeat this process for any other shared networks until you find the one causing the issue.
Troubleshoot Third-Party Locations
- Open the Files app.
- Under the Locations section, tap the ... icon at the top of the sidebar.
- Select Edit Sidebar.
- Disable one third-party location (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox).
- Return to Concepts and tap Try Again.
- Repeat this process until the app launches correctly. Leave the problematic location disabled.
