You can pick a color from any image or stroke on your canvas using the Color Picker. This tool can also detect the original brush properties used to create a stroke.

You can access the Color Picker in two ways:

From the Color Wheel

  1. Make sure an active tool that uses color is selected.
  2. Tap the color dot in the center of the Tool Wheel to open the Color Wheel.
  3. Tap the eyedropper icon to activate the Color Picker.

From the Selection Menu

  1. Tap+Hold anywhere on the canvas to activate Selection.
  2. On the popup menu, tap the mode icon (it may be a Lasso) until it changes to the Color Picker.

Once active, drag the picker across the canvas. The color beneath the crosshairs will be applied to your active tool when you lift your finger or stylus.

Vector Color Picking

The popup menu includes a toggle for Alpha. When Alpha On is active, the picker isolates the exact color and opacity of the specific stroke you select. When Alpha Off is active, it picks the flattened, combined color you see on screen, similar to a traditional pixel-based app.

Pro Tip: When you select a vector stroke, a tag may appear showing the original brush used to draw it. Tap this tag to instantly switch your active tool to that exact brush and its settings.
