You can design your own unique brushes by combining images and adjusting their behavior. Start by opening the Brushes menu and creating a new brush.
Create a New Brush
- Double-tap a tool on the Tool Wheel to open the Brushes menu.
- Next to My Brushes, tap + New Pack.
- In the new pack that appears, tap + New.
- Tap the new brush icon or tap Edit Brush in the preview window to open the brush editor.
Set the Core Brush Type
Under Core Setup, choose your brush type.
- Stamp Brush: Stacks one or more images (Stamps) at set intervals to create a textured stroke.
- Reveal Brush: Uses one or more images to reveal an underlying texture (Grain), creating a consistent stroke without overlap.
Add Your Textures
- Stamp Source: Tap the `+` to import an image from your device. You can use a single image or import up to nine for more variety.
- Grain Source: Tap to import an underlying texture image. This is optional but works especially well for Reveal brushes. For best results, use a seamless texture.
Important: We recommend a 256 x 256 px or 512 x 512 px image size for optimal performance. Larger images may impact app performance.
Adjust Presets & Dynamics
Use the sliders and variance graphs to control your brush's Size, Opacity, and Smoothness. You can link these settings to your stylus Pressure, Tilt, or Velocity.
Control the Shape
Adjust the Spacing, Scatter, and Rotation of your stamps. To create a random effect, move the two handles on the sliders apart.
Choose Advanced Settings
Under Advanced Settings, you can define which Layer type your brush will use when Automatic Layering is active.
Tap outside the editor to save your changes. Your new brush is ready to use.
